Have you seen this 1940's anti-Nazi piece? https://www.youtube.com/wat… It's 17 minutes, but well worth watching for how clearly it illustrates how fascists intentionally conflate economic problems and prejudices to leverage their own agenda.

Mark my words, that belt will singlehandedly bring 2006 back.

Wow, I totally missed this earlier. I actually meant to agree with you on how gross it is to watch Sam being into Reggie's pain, but reading it over, I see I phrased that poorly. Sam does get her romantic comeuppance later, but I don't think the show ever fully calls her out for how she treated Reggie.

I also really want a Kelsey episode. The adventures of Kelsey and Sorbet!

After reading this thread, I feel like I should be extra nice to my mom tomorrow.

All will love her and despair.

Maybe just that we've had a lot more Thor than Loki recently, between the trailers and Darryl? Hiddles looks like he's going to bring it in this movie, though.

As someone who is Not A Comics Fan, the first trailer left me a bit confused. But the colors and action look amazing in this one.

Tom Hiddleston tho

This was the first time I'd heard of it. And I'd even heard parts of the Aaliyah story, I just never heard R. Kelly's name associated with it. The contortions our society goes through to protect powerful predators are incredible.

SV reviews and comments are pretty positive here. Kumail specifically gets lots of praise. I'm definitely scratching my head over this one.

Ah, the glory years.

I described it to my friend as the kind of show that's been lovingly crafted by completely obsessed fanboys. The kind who really want to know what happens if there's a fire while someone is using TechTransit, but also know that the answer should be sensible.

Am I the only one who thinks Stargate holds up? At least, early SG-1 totally does. Maybe that's why I like Dark Matter so much.

Seems to have happened around Obama leaving office…I assume because his liberal profligacy resulted in the depletion of our strategic hope reserves.

Plus, we've seen that various cities have their own Little Americas, presumably composed of other refugees. I'd be surprised if they didn't have some kind of informal American refugee jobs program between them (of the "my friend is looking for help in his bakery" variety).

My guess is that, in the eyes of the regime, her fertility stops being sacred when it looks like she might harm the resulting children. Which she obviously wouldn't do if they didn't have such an insane system, but part of the insanity is that they don't care.

I've been thinking that about the slow-mo too, as well as some of the character reactions this season. June's breakdown in the car was certainly warranted, but it was also so over the top that it actually pulled me out of the scene. Let me come to you, Handmaid's Tale!

One of the things I was pretty sad about towards the end of TDS's run is how the show went from being understated and dry to being all about how loud the correspondents could scream. Oliver was definitely an accomplice in that transition, though I also think he tries to combat that on LWT by doing so much research and
