For me the movie that ops to mind is My Stepmother is an Alien, or whatever the name of that movie is, when I was like 10 or 11 and that was what someone picked up at the video store.  I'm thankful though that I missed out on the time the movie my dad picked was 8MM, which I'd imagine is my sisters pick.

While this is the best of them, during their golden years they really knew how to put together these types of episodes  doing it with sports stars (Homer at the Bat), music (Homerpalooza) and to a lesser extent comedy (The Last Temptation of Krust).
