In general I found her visit rather nice, in that the show avoided doubling down on many potentially cliched pitfalls, such as having Dig be a drama queen about his falling out with Oliver or, say, snapping at Felicity overmuch. She *tried* to broker a ceasefire, and it didn't work, and that's cool! (Maybe she helped

Credit where credit is due! I had forgotten about his strange arm-ial paralysis. (Hard to talk and flex at the same time? Too muscly to have much range-of-motion?)

This is all true. But I think it's also true that, for example, he has a very stilted way of thanking other characters (something that happens way too often, writing-wise).

Ah, that's a relief; I'd started to worry that she'd get Barrow'd.

I suspect that the show made a point of avoiding showing us Laurel's sister (even though we *have* seen her before) in the hopes of having us forget her face in case they have to recast her, giving them an out for who Black Canary is (Laurel's sister rather than Laurel herself).

"Did you paint these yourself?"

Oliver's look of barely-suppressed rage (mentioned in the review) upon running into Merlyn was really well done; it might be the best capital-A acting we have seen from our lead. I do agree that Amell was great as a cad in the flashbacks. It was so easy to see that, yep, he had been spooked by the notion of moving in

It was indeed a very contrived line, but the execution and payoffs were worth it. The faces she made were things of beauty.
