I don't think Patti loses any points, Warren. According to George and Eric, their split-up was amicable and they all seemed to remain friends. She inspired "Something," "Layla," "Wonderful Tonight"— what am I missing here??? She's definitely the cutest Beatle wife, in my humble opinion.

That, my friend, was my Uno nickname amongst my fellow card players back in the day. Thanks for reminding me.

"The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion " is fucking awesome, and—for my money, anyway—the one truly terrific album in their discography.

Nebraska
Sure, it's bleak, but it feels the way its cover art looks. Great for those open stretches of highway.

That part of the finale was always tedious (and the inevitable drama that ensued when things went awry with the design/construction/etc.), but getting a glimpse at most every finalist's garish idea of a "dream restaurant" was always good for a laugh.

Talking Heads
They deserve a little consideration in this discussion.

That's the thing about Nirvana— they had the cultural impact, but I'm just not convinced their catalog holds up to scrutiny. There's great stuff there, of course, but it's an uneven body of work.

I think the Beatles best shows took place before they were famous. After that, hordes of wailing teenage girls completely took over whatever shitty, primitive PA system (literally tinny baseball stadium speakers) they had no choice but to try and be heard through.

Hmmm…
not one mention of Nirvana.

I wish I could say I made it up, but it is our (unfortunate?) namesake.

I've been in PDX for 10 years now— it's awesome, but no Great Lakes surrounding us still makes my wife and I a bit edgy, y'know? We run into folks from Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, etc. constantly. We've got a child now, so we've been seriously considering moving back to be closer to our families, but— to what?

MBS: You don't sound callous at all, but MI has had the opportunity to be in the hybrid game for some time now.

Moore & Me
As a native Michigander, I find 'Roger & Me' to be a particularly poignant film.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is only 4 years older than Cheryl Hines. But that's neither here nor there, really. And they're both pretty hot, so, whatever. No need to argue about that. It's just that whenever I see JLD, I'm amazed at the Dorian Grey-type I see.

Correction. Elaine is HOTTER.

Barring Dave's wrist miraculously healing, I'm guessing a Kevin vs. Ariel final (with me in Ariel's corner. She's talented, not entirely crazy or self-centered, and—erm—kinda cute).

She clearly has a volume problem, but I was incredibly amused by self-motivational bellowing pitted squarely against Dave's croaky monotone in this episode. Terrible, Terrible voices.

Next week on Hell's Kitchen: The return of…
"I ain't no bitch!!!" guy.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one, er, confused here— I was almost certain I had read that he was openly gay. Whatever.
