Mohinder's new powers
Since this new serum Mohinder developed can give anyone any power (or any power from a comic book, at least), I was very disappointed when it turned out that Mohinder had injected himself with super steroids instead (super-strength? check. heightened reflexes? check. overabundance of testosterone

Product Placement, Retcons and Possible Futures
While the fact that they had the product placement was pretty pathetic, I have to admit that I did laugh at the line.

Credit where credit is due
As much as people make fun of MacFarlane for copying everything he does from everyone else, at least this contest is original. Other contests actually give you something when you win. No one ever lets you "win" the privilege of buying them a meal.

Thanks
I have to admit that he was always on my "I'll get to it eventually" reading list, but so far I have never managed to get around to it. However, I want to thank you, Andy, for the recommendation of and link to the commencement address. That was a more valuable use of a few minutes than just about anything I

This makes me sad
It doesn't surprise me, but it's sad nonetheless.

Drop down, increase speed and reverse direction!

@ X-Ray - I'm not sure why this gives you trouble. It's obviously hyperbole; you even call it that. Clearly the word infinitely was used for emphasis and not literally. My point was that I liked Wall E. I liked it a lot. However, I don't have the desire to see it again, whereas with Ratatouille, left the theater and

From a storytelling, character and (most importantly) enjoyment standpoint.

Also…
Do you all write/review for other places in addition to the A.V. Club?

pixar 2007 vs. 2008
Ratataouille is infinitely better than Wall-E, and I really liked Wall-E.

Meet the Spartans
I watched Meet The Spartans and the thing that angered me the most (aside for the fact that I bothered to watch it) was that as if the jokes weren't stupid enough, the writers felt the need to explain everything. It was as if they were writing for the stupidest people on earth.

Fringe
I know it's pretty much an X-Files rip-off, and I know Abrams is probably just setting me up for disappointment, but I'm going to end up watching it anyway. I am resigned to this.

Zane was going to be my suggestion.

Thanks Nathan, that does explain a lot.

Secret Success
While you did say it was prescient in its satire, you skewer the film throughout the review for various reasons. What criteria make something a secret success as opposed to a failure which had a few good ideas?

IBC is not available on tap, is it? That kind of makes it an unfair comparison to a place that has Barq's on tap.

Not anymore. I said that recently to a coworker who was talking about them and she corrected me. Turns out the Uh-Oh was a temporary thing. Now they are Golden.

So, next up for the Banana Oreo is scoring a Quentin Tarantino movie or starring in Meet the Spartans?

I don't know if they'd suspend them but judging by my reaction to your comment, I would laugh.

Because I haven't seen it from anyone else yet…
Go banana!
