Joe Bonamossa is the current guy like that. Great guitar player, but the most void and empty songs you will ever hear this side of a Michael Buble vocal.

I think a big part of their lack of success in the US stemmed from the fact that Arthur Lee never wanted to leave LA to play anywhere else.

Quadrophenia….as a lifelong Who fan I can say that when I was in my early teens I didn't get it. Once I turned 19 and got slapped with real-world problems of growing up I totally got it. To this day it is still my favorite Who album.
