Same. I got Blood Mountain and Leviathan from a friend and didn't think too much of it since I had trouble with the vocals. Then I really got into Crack the Skye and when I revisited the other two I totally appreciated them even more. Definitely a great gateway.

I think listening to the direction Torche has taken over their last 4 albums and the sound Mastodon has developed from The Hunter that Mastodon actually owe a lot to Torche.

I agree. I miss the busy cities to climb and jump around. The overabundance of 1 and 2 story houses in small villages really took quite a bit away from what made the game fun.
