What what? In the butt?
What what? In the butt?
This is a true story (truuuuuuue stoooooraaayyyyyy)
Of a bunch of killers
picked to live in a house
and have their lives taped
find out what happens
when people stop being polite (somebody get the phooooone)
and start getting real…..crazy

I don't mean Adam Carolla, per se, it's just that using that song to reinforce the point is pretty spot on the best argument or counterpoint you can make.
Anyone have any thoughts on Mark Lanegan?
As a dad of a newborn, while cruising the toy section in the local store I couldn't help but absolutely laugh at the toy of Cookie Monster that sings the alphabet song. This subject was the first thing that came into my mind.
Pick up the Soulsavers album that Mark Lanegan sings on. Totally worth it.
Adam Carolla had the best argument: next time someone praises Bob Dylan as a genius play 'All I really want to do' and ask them what exactly is the genius part of that song??? It's terrible in every way possible.
You mean you're getting tickets to see Billy Corgan and some other kids play Smashing Pumpkins songs.
I hate that Journey is a recurring joke to so many people. I don't see how you could have a top 100 singers list and not have Steve Perry on it. There's a reason Journey went from a proggy-type band on the verge of getting dropped by the label to a huge arena-filling band, and most of that reason was Steve Perry.
'How Many More Times' is the top of the mountain.
Nat King Cole was pretty good as well.
I think the 'Mats are impossible to do good covers of. If you put any effort into it, it just will never sound right. They just had "it".
I have a hard time listening to more than one song at a time. That's why I like the longer, more instrumental-driven songs they do. His voice, tonation, pronunciay-sheeun of words, and lack of varying melody really turn me off. Same thing with Craig Finn and Hold Steady stuff.
agreed. Couldn't say it any better.
That's why I'm a firm believer that the Who is the best band ever, Daltry is the greatest frontman, and he's also probably the best at delivering lyrics that he did not write, which is probably the hardest thing to do and have any conviction or honesty come through.
Otis is the number one de-facto be-all-end-all for what a great singer is and should be.
Usually if there is a falsetto part it's usually the bass player it seems.
That's why Greg Dulli is in my top 5 vocalists of all time. He's one of the best.
Infinity and Evolution kick all known ass. People always forget to mention the fact that as individual musicians Journey were some of the best there were.
It's still awesome.
