I enjoyed the comparison between George Of The Jungle and Louie. How Louie isn't "needy" and has the confidence to go a while without a laugh, because the audience is interested.

Listen to the person whose avatar is two Hobbeses embracing.

I appreciate the Muppets on a much deeper level than you.

See, I literally laughed out loud at that.

I suspect there's much truth in what you're saying, but note that to some extent, you're claiming to know what's going on inside the minds of LtCG's fans, which is perhaps a little bit of a dangerous path to embark on.

Fair enough.

"If the helmet don't fit, you'll look like a twit."

In fairness, gay monkeys are the funniest kind of monkeys.

Here, listen to this Third Eye Blind CD to cheer yourself up.

Don't feel bad, Salieri. Unlike Mozart, at least you lived long enough to have a midlife crisis.

I agree that many of the commenters at the AV Club could stand to lighten up a little, and that there is a hipster tendency to expend a lot of energy looking down one's nose at stuff.

I'm now going to start saying "Whereas FART!" in conversations.

I'll grant that the interview could have dug deeper. I'm just wondering how antagonistic an interviewer needs to be in this situation — would it accomplish much beyond annoying the subject? Sometimes it's good for the interviewer to step back a little and just let the subject say what they want to say about themself.

Yes, but those are the ones where he's been reined in a little, and the scriptwriting and the directing is good.

He's a "mater", as in "one who mates", as in "one who isn't queer"??

Yeah, like anybody would ever name a city "Minneapolis".

Tangential point: Whitney mentions Jeff Foxworthy's Georgia upbringing. Although Foxworthy was indeed born and raised in Georgia, his father was an IBM executive, suggesting Jeff's upbringing wasn't all that blue-collar.

ENDUT! HOCH HECH!

Good point, maybe I shouldn't have said "did its job". I guess all I really meant is that the interview exposed me a little more to a performer that I'm not very into, and made me reflect on his career and his work.
