Goodness knows that I can't stand idly by and miss out on a chance for seasonal consumerism!

I'm right there with you on that one. I know that quoting "the Wrath of Khan" at the start should have tipped me to the fact of the stylish emptiness… but it still was empty. Fun while in there, but I've not really had the faintest interest in re-watching it, let alone watching Vol. 2.
I may not know what I'm missing out on, but for the bamboo grove duel and the restaurant brawl together there's a lot to be said for "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."
I'm still partial to "Fellowship," but good reasons for picking "Two Towers" over it.
Hey, "Moulin Rouge!" definitely deserves its spot.
Almost Famous
Easily the film that I've seen the most on this list and will never tire of, I'm almost surprised to see it on this list. I recall the content (but not author) of a critical review which said that it was hypersanitized and utterly lacking in anything real. Thanks for articulating the defense that I have…
Oooo, topical addition by Preparation Heche, too. Well done. I'm sure that the last 3% of the federal stimulus funds could help make this a reality…
I was wondering who would go there. A golf clap for you. Kudos!
Wait, we're supposed to try to get the comments up? Are there prizes or powerups to unlock?
"AUDIENCES FIND IT OFF-PUTTING!" Man, that was a non sequitor that lasted for a long time in my house; I can't believe it's fallen out of use. Now I've got a plan for the day!
This might get noted on a later page, but I can't be bothered to see - "The Corrections" came out in 2001. I'm pretty sure its release date was either 4 September or 11 September, at that.
Permit me to wave the geek flag and note the omission of "Order of the Stick." Perhaps it's not playing in the deeply emotional zone of others, but its riffs on genres, character, and storytelling (to say nothing of the gleeful metaawareness of the entire cast) have made for impressive fun.
Eat this, waffle!
So when do contrarian hipsters unlock the ability to backdate their backlash? I'm guessing July of 2010.
Just because the sentiment might get consideration here - did anyone else find Sam Roberts' first album more fun than "Chemical City?"
Crap, that should have been "Fiennes" - neither of which work with the spellcheck, anyhow.
Bob Saget's "Strange Days"
Will he be playing the Ralph Finnes role or Angela Bassett's?
Fair call, Jason. I'd imagine there are tearful anecdotes about how this compromise was reached at the AV Club offices.
"Precious, based upon the post 'CRANK 2 FUCKING OWNED' by ZMF"
Okay, there's two in the last two years - "Breaking Bad" (which I thought was 2007, but suspected otherwise) and "Eastbound and Down" (which I've never seen a moment of and never devoted any more time to than spent in reading the review of it in this article).
Ooooh! More fuel for the decade fire, just 'cause:
