You all are taking the scene where Chuck doesn't tell Jimmy about their mother's dying words completely differently from how I did. The vibe I get from the scene is Chuck thinks Jimmy screwed up by leaving, but he doesn't want Jimmy to have to live with knowing their Mom asked for him and he wasn't there, so he hides

Van Helsing is definitely Catholic. A protestant wouldn't get an indulgence for misusing the Eucharist because he wouldn't believe it was anything more than a cracker, or believe in indulgences.

Sam and Diane, right?

When we got back after seeing it, one of my friends convinced us that Superman wanted to kill Zod, and was upset because Zod forced him to kill an innocent family as well. The direction Superman twisted Zod's head would have swung the heat rays through that cowering group of people.

Reamde was like dark chocolate covered almonds to me. Obviously candy, but not the kind I get sick of. I went through it at about the pace I'll go through a bag of those, which is why I can't buy them that often. The train mission was a pain. I remember taking a path to the side then jumping my bike onto the train. Tough to pull off, but less frustrating because at least I was doing something rather than just chasing and waiting to see if my partner would be able to shoot or not.

You and Ebert both say that Eastwood's character is named Joe in Fistful. I thought the other characters called him that as a generic nickname for an American. Does he ever say his name is Joe?

Roger Ebert Rocks
I love Roger Ebert. I had a desk job with nothing to do in college so I'd alternately read his 4 star and <1 star reviews. Besides entertaining me I think he shaped my understanding of taste and how to have it. :)
