London Hearts
Having watched too much London Hearts (the Japanese show I'm assuming the format was lifted from) I didn't think the show could ever be re-packed for the US. But I guess we've finally caught up to the Japanese in terms of having celebrities basically only famous for their willingness to do stupid shit

iwilleatyourorigami is totally ignorant of the Japanese entertainment industry. That's adorable.

Takeuchi
Never thought I'd see Takeuchi Yuko on American tv. It's a pleasant surprise. Wonder how they got her actually; she's super famous, always seems to be in some new movie or tv show in Japan. Wonder if she's working for less by doing American tv?

Real World was good, not mind blowingly awesome or anything but good. Also better than Grotesque I think.

Well considering how she got married to Tim Armstrong really young I always just figured that by the time she ended their marriage she had grown out of gutterpunk chic and moved on the from the music.
You hear that her first marriage was sort of suffocating anyway.

You didn't make it up Krauthammer. She's worked pretty steadily in Japanese films. A couple have been featured in international festivals and what not, but as is usually the case with Japanese films in Japan most of her gained little recognition at home. Of course suddenly everyone knew she was after the academy

The Trouble With Angels
It was that movie with a teenage Hayley Mills. I was flipping through the channels and happened to come across it and got stuck. I ended up getting really engrossed in the movie and by the end, where ****SPOILER ALERT****Hayley Mills becomes a nun I came as close to crying as when I was a

Apparently "rubber" is the hot shit in Asian hair products now.

Mandom, Gatsby, et.al
This styling pastes seems very reminiscent of all the "styling wax" and "styling solids" (in a variety of strengths indicating how rock hard they can make your hair) that have been marketed in Japan to young men and promoted by young male-idols with stupid hair since the 90's.

No shit. Don't know how that escaped me. I've never seen them live and only recall pictures of the big ugly guitar player.

Maximum the Hormone has a female member?

Rin Toshite Shigure and GO!GO!7188 are amazing bands.

And my favorite band/girl band/Japanese band is Bleach (aka Bleach03).

What's "Intentional Engrish?"

It is getting a little tiring that every year the bands Japanese bands that get trucked out are a majority of the time comprised of cute (and in a lot of times still teenage) girls. Looking over the Japan Nite line-up this year is no different: FLiP, Honey Sac, Stereopony, Special Thanks, Natccu, Bo-Peep, Detroit 7.

Yup, Englanese, Tokyo is nothing but anti-social shopping. Just like London, New York city, Paris etc.

You know it's comments like the above that make me go looking for lexicondevil comments. Seriously, no sarcasm.

Yup. Dragon Half is pretty great, or at least I remember it that way.

You and me Shih Tzu

Is that pretty much everyone's contention as well?
