I seem to remember Jesus Wept getting decent reviews including a Best New Music mention in CMJ and although it was overlooked by the hip hop/r&b community it got airplay on predominantly white college radio stations (the cover of Once in a Lifetime by the Talking Heads probably helped).

Aunt Becky was way hot and the only reason I watched this dumb show occasionally.

I thought the mullet scientist from The Walking Dead was Bill Hicks, but this is interesting.
