He played it straight in The Thousand Autumns of Jacob deZoet — maybe too straight. It was a pretty ordinary historical. Black Swan Green is my favorite Mitchell.

There's too much repetition in the first book. How many times do we need to read that Glokta has trouble with stairs?

I'm reading A God in Ruins now — I don't want it to end. Amazing, how she writes about Teddy's war experiences — she must have talked to pilots. ?? I adore Teddy. The book made me want to find an old person to be kind to. Decided that would be my husband.

A Prayer for the Dying is my favorite O'Nan. The cover art on my copy is the guy with arms outstretched — it spooked me so bad, I gave the book away. Even when I could only see the spine in the bookcase, I knew that guy was there, looking at me.

This episode should be required viewing for anyone who doesn't understand why there's so much anger. Like my 30-ish stepson, who was incensed at Beyonce's Superbowl performance. "Why are they still mad? Slavery was 150 years ago — get over it!" Aaargh.

I just got it — Rita/Gilda — the movie that made Rita Hayworth a big star — Gilda!

Replay by Ken Grimwood (and the ones mentioned by willrob2 below).

I thought Bow's story line was a bit of a mess. I had a hard time finding a connection between her not wanting to volunteer with those relentlessly chirpy women and chastising Zoey for grasping for money and Junior for buying popularity. She has nothing to feel guilty about. Her family is not being shortchanged.

The only reason I watched is because I was hoping Meemaw might be played by Betty White.

Same here. I'm more interested in seeing houses that I can afford. Pricey new-construction is a bore. Actually, so is reasonably-priced new construction. Show me Victorians, Craftsmans, bungalows, Cape Cods.

Me too. Am I misremembering? When she was on the show, didn't they often give the income of the purchasers? It seems like there was more information on the buyers' financial situation. Now we're told their budget, but sometimes their budget seems way off, like if one person is a school teacher and the other has no

Yes, showing the renovations. I've been waiting to see what happened with a couple who bought a home in France (?) — inaccessible, no running water, crumbling stone, etc. If it's been aired, I missed it.

Totally agree. Worst portrayal of a drunk ever.

I liked Trixie in the first season but hated her in 2 and 3. Also not a fan of Robin Weigert's portrayal of Calamity Jane — way over the top. She did have some good lines though. "Custer was a c***." "Are you dead?"

That's a reasonable takeaway.

No, not a story. They put together all the clips from that episode where Iowa was mentioned. Maybe three minutes worth.

I haven't checked but have been told that the first season is on YouTube.

Jean Smart said in an interview that she wanted to say "uff-da".

Is there a Fargo mob left, for Hanzee to worry about? The Gerhardts didn't seem to have any competition in that region.

Did Floyd know? She tolerated Hanzee better than Catelyn Stark tolerated Jon Snow.
