The biggest problem with season 5 is that the villain reveal was so terrific it left the show with no way to top itself. Once you say "The President Is The Big Bad," there's really no place left to go. (Although I'm still excited for the new miniseries.)

Agent Hotness! Oh man, I forgot about that. Also the horrible things the show did to her.

It's a show that benefits from binge-watching, I think; maybe crammed together the plot twists seem dumber, but the faster you watch it, the more you're watching for the rush. This isn't a series that benefits much from savoring. (I don't mean that as a criticism.)

Yeah, that's pretty much her character. She's the show's comic relief.

I've done a fairly shitty job talking about the writers of this show (and of Next Gen); thanks, sincerely, for picking up some of the slack here.

Nothing this big. I was talking to another critic (SIIIIMMMMMMS) who suggested the screener just had a temporary voice track laid in, which makes sense. I've amended the review.

Goddammit. I watched the screener twice, and it didn't sound like Lester at all. I'll have to check when I get home.

Huh. Well, he has a box full of tapes with different names on them, and in the version I saw, the guy he was listening to was talking about threatening a woman he worked with. I watched this twice, and it didn't sound like Lester to me—maybe they changed it, or I made a mistake.

Well, I wrote that, and I stand by it, so you'll need to report to your supervisor.

It had a bit of that Barton Fink feeling, for sure.

It sounds like a giant anthropomorphized burger really needs a hug right now.

Mistake. If I did that sort of thing on purpose, I'd try and be more obvious. (Although hey, this is 4 years ago, so maybe I was a much subtler asshole back then.)

I'm partial to "The Great Piggy Bank Robbery," myself.

Wow, you found a way to make Roadrunner/Wile E. Coyote cartoons even _more_ existentially terrifying.

I went in expecting to hate this (like many sensible people, FARGO is one of my favorite movies), but I loved it, and I love how the show develops. What impressed me about Lester killing his wife was how ugly a scene it was; how Lester immediately stops looking like a hapless schmuck and instead looks psychotic, in a

Nope, that'll be Todd. (I think. It definitely will not be me.)

Without spoiling anything, the female lead in this is terrific. Just keep an eye on her.

Not to go against Sonia's police work here, but I think it's even better than she suggests. Definitely more interesting than fan service.

I apologize for not catching your reference, then.

Okay, it's supposed to be 10:30 PM Eastern, 9:30 PM CST. Did the review go up early?
