Check out FROM BEYOND and the BLACK CAT episode of Masters Of Horror; both have Combs working with Stuart Gordan, the director behind RE-ANIMATOR, and they're excellent. (Combs pays Edgar Allan Poe!) Also, he's pretty good in THE FRIGHTNERS, which is over-stuffed but fun.

I see there's a two-parter about time travel coming up. Should I be concerned?

Re: "man vs. security system," I'm fond of the second season MacGyver episode, "The Human Factor." It's pretty terrible, but I am fond of it.

That's always been my problem with the holodeck; Trek was so eager to introduce it as a way to facilitate a certain kind of storytelling, that no one seemed to bother thinking it through. The episode of TNG when we meet Barclay for the first time, he's busy programming various crew-members into his private fantasy

Yeah, but the problem isn't Dukat—the problem is that his "flirtation" is treated as a joke in the episode, and it shouldn't be.

I watched an episode of something where it _was_ lupus. It just wasn't House.

Oh man, the last segment of Black Sabbath, "The Drop Of Water," is one of the most terrifying sequences I've ever seen on film.

She did, and I'm wondering how that's going to work—I thought she was going to help Jax, but the episode ends with Jax and the others about to be released. So maybe what @avclub-a0634635a076822aa42d2d26ac315c56:disqus said?

I love that song—it's catchy, and it's just so weirdly, intensely personal, in a way that seems to say more about how Jackson viewed the world (and the way people viewed him back) than most everything else he wrote. It's part "Billie Jean" redux (women are predators!), and part a horror story about someone wanting

Dammit. Curse you, end of the show montages, and your extremely relevant but surprisingly easy to forget revelations!
