One of the great things about Alec Baldwin's scene is that he seems (to me at least) to have as much contempt for the cliched advice he's giving as for the salesmen to whom he's giving it.

Sure Clueless, that's a good point about Iago, but keep in mind that he is basically the character of 'Vice' from earlier morality plays. Vice doesn't need a motivation, he's just evil. Shakespeare was still developing his craft at that time and it's an astounding play if you keep that in mind. It's pretty astounding…
