Agreed on Grand Prix. It has more solid list of songs than Bandwagonesque.

Michael Collins
I saw it in Dublin, at the theatre right in front of the post office building where Easter Rising happened. The anticipation and controversy surrounding the film was quite astounding in Ireland, and indeed it was a powerful film. Too bad it's only regarded as a flopped Julia Roberts film in the US.

Ennis' works varies in a great degree and I'm not surprised to see a Preacher backlash here, but let's just say HITMAN ruled.

Speaking of Unforgiven, the scene which Munny starts drinking calmly after hearing about his friend's death is forever burned in my head.

Is A Fistful of Dynamite considered Western, or more like a period piece?

Steve Ditko interview woud be worth an ounce of gold per word.

Seconded. I didn't get it the first time, then I read it some time later and everything just clicked and blew me away, although I can actually remember for exactly what reason.

They always failed to make a good Punisher movie.

The Men Who Stare at Goats
Saw this movie some weeks ago and although it had a good potential to be a cult hit, the execution by the first-time director was just poor. Cohen brothers should remake it someday with the same cast.

IMHO Voyager was the one that killed the whole franchise, being too straight and frigid. I mean, it was about a ship in a total new frontier and they could have shown how Federation's ideal does not necessarily work in an alien situation, but instead the characters just kept preaching how great Prime Directive was

To me Soup Dragons was the pinnacle of selling out - they started as a little indie band and then moved to baggy dance when Madchester was happening and then turned into guitar-oriented sound after shoegazing became a trend. They somehow got more famous in the US and allegedly did a joint tour with Public Enemy.

Billy Corgan?

Is Uwe Boll successful?

Ian Dury being murdered by an ABC Robot was funny, in a nerd-satisfying way.

How about
Every direct-to-DVD sequels of Disney cartoons? They tried to make their own Toy Story 3 years ago.

I was watching THE CORNER the other day and Bobby Brown the actor who played Bobby Brown the character in THE WIRE was playing the other character and was talking about Bobby Brown the real policeman. That was damn confusing.

His new BBC drama called Luther sounds promising though. Has anyone checked it yet?

Beastly
I much prefer to see a movie about an actual ugly nerd finding a true love than some pretty boy actor in a hideous make-up.

He actually looks exactly like Harvey Pekar.

Speaking of musicians, I hope Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding (and maybe Dave Gregory) get together and release an XTC record one more time.
