I despise him as well, but his last arc on Swamp Thing called Trial by Fire was quite good. And most of his Superman stories.

Me too. That was quite a moment back then.
The first Highlander was okay. It's the second installment, Highlander II: The Quickening, that we should avoid like a pool of vomit.
Demme
Didn't he direct New Order's video for "Perfect Kiss" as well? That one was quite bland and mundane.
Keep fuckin' that chicken!
De Niro in The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle
You talkin' to me?…There's no one else here, so you must be talking to me…
After reading the news I immediately thought of his introduction to The Greatest Batman Stories Ever Told - he wrote how he was a sick child with asthma and how the comics his dad brought to him changed his life. He then devoted all of his life to the comics.
We need a visual
Maybe she was saying that with wink-wink, nudge-nudge, air-quotes style, with her tongue firmly in her cheek while dressed as a clown?
1974.
I agree. Mi:II had Woo's impeccable slo-mo technique in its glorious form.
I"m not sure if it's his best, but The Intruder is pretty damn good. Ironically it's the only film he (allegedly) lost money on, and it's easy to see why it bombed now - it was too soon to make a film about racial segregation, the same way the movies about Iraq War are not performing well these days.
Corman kicks ass
He may have produced many films in the list, but his Oscar speech about original innovative filmmakers were very inspirational and thoughtful:
SHUTTER ISLAND
What, too soon to discuss the plot?
Coat of Many Cupboards by XTC
XTC is one of those bands that creates wonderful and experimental B-sides and demo track that are as good as their best singles. Even the unproduced home-demos sound good with Andy Partridges' voice.
I heard they started auditioning rabbits for "We3: The Movie".
Vermillion Sands
I am surprised no one has mentioned Vermilion Sands yet. It's the collection of short stories set in the same world, and it's quite easy to follow compared to Ballard's latter novels but you can find many of his themes (technology, femme fatale, etc.) there.
Am I the only one who thought Cocaine Nights and Super-Cannes are basically the same, theme-wise?
Albemuth is supposedly in the works:
I strongly disagree. Bladerunner was a very loose adaptation which turned out to be a classic, but there's still more stuff to be juiced from Electric Sheep. Currently they are publishing faithful comic book adaptation and it looks quite good. Personally I hope TV channels like Syfy or HBO make mini-series out of the…
It's a bit of surprise that Jennifer Aniston, the staple queen of Rom-com isn't mentioned here. For all I know she just doesn't deserve another role in romantic comedy.
