I grew up in Northwest Detroit and I felt the show had a northern Oakland County vibe to it.  No particular town comes to mind though.

Graceland ($17.98 new) was one of the first 3 CD's I bought and I played it do death in 1986. I haven't listen to the whole CD since then. I'm still a Simon & Garfunkel fan and I remember staying up to watch this episode when it first aired.

I loved the movie (and the soundtrack) enough to buy them both. I watch the movie occasionally, each time hoping that I understand more of what's going on (other than the major plot lines).  Not a good movie for the kids. Moira Kelly and Sheryl Lee are worth the price of admission.

I sure will miss those 10:15pm game starts when the Wings go to the Eastern Conference or in other, more accurate words, I will not miss them at all!  Go Red Wings!

We didn't even get that mystery explained to us.  There was no bone throwing to either fan of the show last night.

I'm questioning why I'm even on this site. I haven't seen any of those shows with the exception of the first seasons of "The Killing" and "Mad Men". Winston is my hero.

This past weekend, I finished watching all the "Golden Boy" episodes to date.  Now I'll never know why he limps in the future.  I truly am looking at the underside of life…

Well, I'm just spitballing here but didn't Jim look right at the camera after he nicked the card?  Other than that, I concede to your brilliance. :)

Or perhaps, Jim just asked for the footage related to the teapot and the crew, which already had a montage of Jim & Pam for the documentary, added it to the DVD. It's not impossible.  Or maybe, they gave Jim some footage and he put it together on DVD. He is a bright person. I am a Jim apologist…

No middle-of-the-night Western Conference Red Wing game tonight, so it's a night of sleep catch-up.  DVR, do your thing.

Maybe her father dug it up in his one moment of being a decent father?

Red Wing game but same idea…

So do Cece and Schmidt remember when they first met at the bar?  Was it part of the story or just a fleshed out part of the scene?  I'm confused.

Sadly, I have to agree.  I've moved around a lot after leaving Detroit 30 some odd years ago but now I live in one of its suburbs.  It's painful to watch the local news some times.  But we've got hockey! ;)

No kidding, the Braves were the big story until about 10 games into the season.  C'mon get with the times AV Club!  Go Tigers!  Growl!

As a former Detroiter, I'm getting a little concerned that Oakland is beating out Detroit as the go to city of jokes about bad areas, urban blight, political corruption or crime. These are troubling times indeed.

Yes, what @silkolay:disqus  said…

Going further back, the night Walter Cronkite retired.  He was the voice of the space program and as a youngster, I remember that Mom & Dad would always turn on CBS and Walter Cronkite when there was any breaking news (George Wallace being shot, Nixon & Watergate, 1972 Olympics, JFK, Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King,

The weeks leading up to the final episode of "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" were just amazing.  Johnny's gift of making every guest the best possible guest.  And when he retired, he retired.

Skip "Blue Lagoon" and go directly to "Paradise".
