I haven't read too many reviews (simply because I've read Then We Came to The End, so on the merit of that alone I would read anything by him), but I agree that his style and his attention to characters and situations is something that should grow and help him build an audience.

I think it has to do with the revival of the 50's art of mooning people from a passing vehicle. The "New" in the title tells this generation how novel and fantastic this act is/will be.

Unless you are a feminist and against family and child-rearing. Then you are considered advanced and evolved and at the forefront of the gender war by taking the fight directly to the very men would would repress them…by being humiliated.

I don't know what her deal is for sure…but I do wonder how everyone nowadays is edgy and erudite, and awesome and ground-breaking.
