This is the first time in at least 3 years where I felt that the show actually earned another season. This season was nowhere near perfect, but it was much more enjoyable than recent seasons past (and much better than season 3. Ugh. Bella.)

Blackwater wasn't my favorite episode of last season. After the wildfire, the battle was kind of just typical. Tywin coming to save the Lannisters was fairly anticlimactic. The Cersei/Sansa scenes are exceptional, though. Also…the Hound!

Jorah must have known that she understood the slave master, and I'm sure Selmy knew as well. A++ poker faces all around, though.

I've read that book as well, but would never have made that connection. It's all a little fuzzy, since I read it a few years ago. And was drunk at the time. And am drunk now.

Wow, I didn't notice that! Definitely a mistake…I've never heard an American use "row" and it certainly wouldn't be on a news ticker. Cable news always aims for the lowest common denominator, so they wouldn't include British slang in the ticker.

Nobody can deny that The Last Samurai is a fun film.

Watched this last night. So dismal. Just a disgusting miscarriage of justice. I agree with the review that it doesn't have a large scope, and it felt a little slow at times. Overall, I was just left feeling really awful for these men.
