How absolutely fascinating.
How absolutely fascinating.
Nothing too serious to add here since this was a great ending to a great show, but am I the only one who thinks bearded Walter looks disconcertingly like David Duchovny in Zoolander? I was waiting for him to start ranting about male models.
I agree with you (Don) here in some respects. This show is, for whatever else it attempts to be, at heart a series about Prohibition and the birth of organized crime. We're not going to have a lot of roles for women coming out of that. And really, that's fine with me. I like Boardwalk Empire because it's a very well…
So, is Kenny Powers going to become Skip Bayless with a mullet? Well, if so, sign me up.
Instant Crush is the best song off the album, or at least the most listenable to me. No idea why it hasn't been promoted as a single.
The story I heard was that Lorne Michaels was standing off to the side giving them the middle finger for the length of the song. Could be wrong though.
I won't be watching but the commercial that seems to be repeatedly playing on Youtube is atrocious. That "joke" that they have to show that the two leads are best friends consists on them discussing a 25 year old movie (The Untouchables) which, I'll admit, does fall within the MacFarlane wheelhouse of strip mining…
I think it's a little early for my annual death odds, which aren't all that accurate truth be told, but Emma's going to die, right? I can't imagine we're going to see her survive the season, nor do I believe that they'd kill off a fan favorite like Harrow. My guess is that she's around long enough to have her kid, die…
While it may appear that everyone was smoking like a chimney back then, I assure you some people were rather anti-smoking even then. Cigarette smoking was actually illegal in a few states, although they had all rescinded their bans by 1927.
I thought Gary Oldman was playing Boddicker. Apparently there is no Boddicker. Who will tell the bitches when they need to leave and who will ask Bobby if he can fly?
Is there a baby in here? I….want….your….baby….
Is it ever explained why the deputy inspector of the police force is a white man? Not that there aren't still Europeans, some of whom are in various leadership positions, in many ex-colonies but I was wondering if that was ever explained.
I think you've hit the nail on the head here. I'll go further in saying that while The Office is one of the finest achievements in comedy of the past generation even his other decent work, Extras and the Ricky Gervais Show, are vastly overrated. Ruining the legacy of his one truly enduring character doesn't really…
Except for the whole apostasy thing. That might not be a good idea.
I like Patton Oswalt's work in general but this struck me as more than a little self indulgent and annoying. Starting to veer a little too far into David Cross territory, but maybe it's just me.
I think you could argue for Bob Dylan, although I'm not sure if he's exactly a pop musician. He's certainly still performing and creating new, rather well received music. Still McCartney deserves all the praise he gets. He really is a fantastic entertainer and a cultural giant.
I wonder if there's beer on the sun.
Very late to respond but I just saw the movie today. I happen to pretty much agree with you. Very little about the film's universe makes sense, the dialogue and plot are a paint by numbers pastiche from action/sci-fi films of years past and, worst of all for me, was that I couldn't figure out what was going on half…
Pretty sure Leonard Pierce is behind all of this.
Their sketches make them look like characters in a graphic novel adaptation of the works of Ayn Rand.
