Oh yeah, Shaq and Kobe of the early 00s Lakers right? I do like Simmons (or at least I don't get the hatred; he's not Rick Reilly after all) but his need to reduce everything to pop culture references can get a little bothersome.

Man, it seems like not a week has gone by that we don't get a Krull reference here. I imagine this will go into overdrive once Eddington shows up on DS9.

So, we're just going to transfer our allegiance to Ed Burns now right?

Maybe we can get Reggie Miller to show up David Simon's favorite team while he watches?

So, Amon Goeth is Omar in this scenario? Because I'm not if I quite get the comparison.

Don't forget Michael Schur. He seems happy enough and laid back.

Fitzgerald maybe. The symbolism, the obsession with the American dream, monetary values as a substitution for older values, wealth and changing societal conditions. I'm not a hundred percent on it, but that'd be my guess.

Have you seen the Studio 60 twitter feed that someone is doing in character (with the two leads)? I never watched much of the show but holy shit is it funny.

That's like saying that the sun is your favorite planet.

Yep, I'll take Harmon's confessional, sometimes overly pathetic self hatred over Simon's holier than thou "oh you just don't get it" attitude. Yeah, we get it Mr. Simon. Season five wasn't very good, except for the finale, and I really think that had more to do with Ed Burns than you at this point.

I was a high school freshman when the first film came out and saw the subsequent two sequels in the theatre. I'm torn though as to whether or not I'll watch this one. I'm sure it's not all that great, but nostalgia's a funny thing. Damned market strategies.

I always thought Can't Hardly Wait was a very good teen comedy with a horrible main plotpoint. The B and C stories, especially the Lauren Ambrose/Seth Green one, are golden, especially compared to how listless the Ethan Embry and Jennifer Love-Hewitt pairing is.

Murray for Jeff's dad would be great, especially if he stuck around, but I'd rather his one shot be as Parks and Recreation's Mayor. Shit, have Jeff's dad be Dan Aykroyd.

Not one of his high points. Man, I've never understood how that show lasted as long as it did.

Eh, the 80s were pretty solid.

Yep, he should be a professional, but as others have said, there's no need for Dan Harmon to give a "fuck you" to an actor on his show in public in front of his family. He could have given a quip, "And to Chevy, a man who brings method acting to a whole new level" and we might not be having this huge conversation

Poor Shirley, so much potential but on the wrong show. The issues of a thirty something single mom/married woman are so removed from the show. I get that they try and show the disconnect, but when most of your cast is basically flying solo, it's hard to find a place for it at the table.

I think part of this might be, and I'm not sure if this is dealt with further down, but from what I know Chase is either a recovering alcoholic or at least someone with some fairly significant alcohol related issues in his past (I think there's one Betty Ford stay on his CV).

This was supposed to be his comeback (which version, maybe the third) on his old network. He was set up, at least in the pilot, to be the third lead behind McHale and Jacobs, but has, as I've written above, been relegated to the back along with Yvette Nicole Brown and behind former supporting players such as Ken

Worst Worst timeline maybe.
