Actually, you're right. I guess I reverted to stereotyping there because I was so offended, which I shouldn't do. But my point was, it feels like that's a 13-year-old's idea of "sexy" or "extreme."

I liked it, but I also don't have a prior relationship with the character. Seems like it reads better if you're coming into it fresh, as I did, which weirdly feels like it doesn't bode well for the future.
I think it's kinda sad that the new line doesn't have a Question book. I would have dug that.
Well daggum, I guess I am alone. I'll try to read with a more open mind and see if I can pick up on what I'm missing.
Bailed on RED LANTERNS about halfway through
I really loved this one too. The art was indeed brilliant (I love the almost-Batsignal page designs), the plot got rolling convincingly and enticingly, and the brief conversation at the end felt like it respected a nice dynamic of equals without diminishing Bats' imposing presence. Definitely gonna be following this…
I liked the worldbuilding of the post-Rebirth GL run enough to stay invested through the whole thing, though objectively, Blackest Night was pretty bad. This first issue didn't work for me on its own—even if you're not really rebooting the story, anything numbered "1" needs more thrills and momentum than this had—but…
So am I the only one who really hates Damian Wayne? The fact that he's still around and Mia Dearden apparently isn't is the kind of thing that gets my irrational nerdrage going. Am I in the minority here?
I'd love to see Todd on this show.
Unrelated: is anyone else having trouble turning on the notifications? It hasn't worked for me, and the new system's been running a while now.
Wow, I can't believe I forgot that one of all songs. I completely agree with you, zircona.
Oh yeah, that Tracks version is terrific. Its an easier fit for the lyrical themes, too, though there's something to be said for the effect putting such desperate lyrics up against the anthemic riff in the original.
I might have been a little harsh on Darlington County and Working on the Highway up there—they're not unlistenable or anything, I just find them kinda boring, and there's no song on the first six albums that bores me.
Really though, what are the criteria for for a music release being Newswire worthy? Is it just…stuff Steven Hyden likes?
I actually really like Cover Me, but it's a weird sound for Springsteen and I think he was right not to go back to it.
Favorites from BitUSA: Downbound Train, Bobby Jean, I'm Goin' Down and I'm On Fire. The title track's growing on me, too.
Also, I just edited a typo out of an AVC comment. This truly is a bright new age.
I hope it's THE LAST RESORT because that show sounds badass if it's done right and Tim Minear is awesome. On the other hand, I hope it's THE PSYCHO'S PATH or whatever because we all know about the Tim Minear curse.
Hopefully the thirty-second registration process will be enough to deter trolls and advertisers but easy enough that the artists we talk about will still find it worth it to weigh in like that.
Where did CK comment?
I'm sure there's someone readying a gimmick persona.
