Great point. And sure, I could see him not having an alibi for many of the murders, but there are just so MANY, it would seem like an absurd convenience that he was never, say, visiting his parents or taking a trip to Europe.

That was some of the best acting we've seen on the show, and I don't say that lightly.

And don't forget that she's now aware that he was never insane and was in fact meticulously framed by someone with great knowledge of his medical problems and great access to him.

I'm torn about this.

"You think you're so fucking smart, Internet? Let's see your TV show."

I think in this case it was just supposed to mean "what do I know, I have bad taste in hip-hop," not "this is how all rap should be!"

Jesus Christ I did not get until this comment that it was, you know, the other Arrested Development.

That's true, but at the same time I don't buy it as an excuse for bad art. Just because you agree with something's political message and it may have had a positive political effect on a few people doesn't mean it can't be a really shitty song.

Joslyn's comment about Courtney being stuck while Joslyn can still grow with the competition was very perceptive. Hopefully she can follow through on that.

And the first and best, the utterly atrocious Rebecca Glasscock.

They're lucky both of these episodes were so good, this was truly a drag marathon. In honor of the pit crew, I'll (clearly fail to) keep this brief:

Kaiji is a favorite of mine. That song is so good it made me temporarily afraid I'd become the kind of nerd that listens to anime OPs for fun.

Sealab 2021 for me. That opening convinced me to watch at least twice as much Sealab as I would have without.

Because he's very cool and has cool tattoos and shops at thrift shops. I'm sure he's had a black girlfriend too. He just "gets it," you know.

I thought Raja and Sharon were reasonably funny. It clearly wasn't their thing, but they pulled it off when they had to. Raja actually did quite well in the stand-up challenge, and Sharon and Chad in Snatch Game, and even when they weren't getting belly-laughs they clearly had a quick wit and their fashion was often

Gia was clearly roadkill, whether it came this week or next week. But I find her un-self-aware delusional mess more entertaining than Lasagna's. There's probably no rational explanation for that, something about Laganj is just unbearable.

I really wish this was a video. Watching that guy say "I like my rappers more ghetto and ratchet sounding" would be a thousand times worse than Thrift Shop.

When you're searching for the "purpose" of the shows, the Following and SVU couldn't be more opposed. At the very least, SVU is virulently on the side of victims, and is something I know actual rape and abuse victims watch and find comforting (the idea of those two cops who are so outraged by rapists and pedophiles

Hardy has almost certainly killed more people than Joe at this point. In an even moderately better show — say, a D show rather than an F — someone would at least mention that hypocrisy.

This review was terrific. I think it can be hard to articulate what, exactly, makes The Following so much more noxious than other procedurals or thrillers. You hit it exactly.
