I read The Last Unicorn for the first time a few years ago and was also struck by how sophisticated it was. Also how uncompromising it managed to be at the end.

Currently reading The Shock Doctrine now. All that MKUltra insanity in the first chapter really sets you up for the multiple shocking revelations that follow. Truly, just a terrifying book.
If she shows up dressed as the Queen of Hearts…fucking RUN!
If this comic is anything like the the Lips show I saw last night, it will likely prove itself dull and formless, relying on tuneless soundscapes and a heavy dependence on 'Meddle'-era Pink Floyd. Oh, it will also end abruptly and leave the audience looking lost and confused as the house lights come on.
I'm fairly well-read in classic literature and found the Thursday Next books to be trite and full of missed opportunities. The main conceit in the Eyre Affair was that the characters were plunked into the middle of Jane Eyre. That premise is ripe, but Fforde doesn't do a thing with it. It's the equivalent of one of…

"The one amazing—and amazingly hilarious—thing to come out of this
storyline is Bridget’s newfound goal to someday reveal herself to Andrew
and Juliet, explaining her entire ruse. Her hope they will be able to
forgive her and continue to let her live Siobhan’s life, but as Bridget,
is hilariously misguided, even for a…
I agree. Vapor Trails has become one of my very favorite Rush albums. There are a few not so great moments, but also some soaring, glorious ones.
I hate reviewing movies based on such flimsy info, but… Damn straight. The Smurfs didn't deserve to be treated so shabbily. Now they're going to take it a step further an murder Popeye? The strips are brilliant. This movie will be a sad travesty. Let me guess… Betty White as the Sea Hag. Cripes.
