Could be. I honestly don't know where the breakdown is in those departments. I found this about the cinematography in Interstellar. I agreed with a lot of the points made. https://www.reddit.com/r/Tr…

Man, I actually liked Battleship. I know it was kind of stupid, but I enjoyed it.

I dunno. He shot Interstellar too, which was really visually uninteresting for a movie about traveling across the universe. It was on TV the other day and I lost count of how many times they used that shot of the camera fixed to the side of a vehicle (both terrestrial and space). I think I counted 8 just in the scene

Ugh. I hate that last shot. I think it's terrible and a cover for bad writing.

I haven't seen The Prestige in quite a while, but I keep hearing people say how great it is. I remember thinking it was just fine. I think I'll have to revisit it.

Yeah, I understood that point. However, I think it essentially negates the ending of the movie where Batman takes the fall. The people of Gotham weren't lost, a fact that Batman had just witnessed. There was no reason for him to take the fall other than to set up the next movie. In my opinion, one or both of the boats

That's a great story.

I thought the scheme was good too, but the ending didn't fit once neither boat blew up.

I say Zodiac was better than both and was unjustly overlooked!

But really, what format? 70mm IMAX isn't available where I live. They were supposed to have one at my local real IMAX when Interstellar was released, but something went wrong and I guess they never got it. My options are 70mm on an extra large screen (equivalent to the fake imax screens at the multiplex) or a real

I just googled and it looks like that was Time of the Wolf, which I never saw. That's messed up. I thought pretty much everything else I've seen of his was good to great, especially Cache.

That sounds like it could be the plot of a South Park episode.

Looper felt the opposite to me. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing.

I really hated that movie. However, having read this, I have a new-found appreciation for it.

I remember trying to find a stuffed Wall-E less than a year after the movie came out and it was pretty difficult, same with an EVE a short while later. Around that same time I remember being surprised not to find anything Wall-E related at Disney World.

I didn't like it overall, but I do remember a moment in the movie where I forgot I was watching an animated movie. It was a shot of the river; the water looked so realistic I was thrown off when it moved back to the obviously CGI dinosaur.

Good point. I'd only seen a few of the foreign titles, but of the domestic films I don't think I would include any of them in my list. I did like seeing Munich get some recognition, though, as I think it's been overlooked. Still, I thought Million Dollar Baby at #3 was absolutely insane.

Mater wasn't at all self-centered in the first movie - more the opposite really. I don't remember that characteristic in the 2nd either, but I only saw it once.

Beyond The Good Dinosaur, I thought Ratatouille was bad, A Bug's Life was forgettable, and Up fell apart once they got to the Falls. I also thought The Incredibles was just okay.
