I'd agree. This was long a "conservative" idea. It's kind of funny seeing this approach seemingly embraced from the other side now.

I think the second one was good and would've been really good if they'd cut all the stuff on the island with cannibals. It really dragged down the start of the movie and didn't really make a difference to the crux of the movie. The third one, however, was a mess.
