She just always thought it would be funny to play that song at her wedding. We also had an audio clip from the Princess Bride and music from the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack. We had fun with our wedding.

We walked out after the ceremony to If You Wanna Be Happy.

I don't care either. I watched it and didn't think it was very good. I even watched it a second time just because I'd heard so much praise. My opinion didn't change the second time around, though.

I thought, "who was she in Friday Night Lights?" and then it hit me. She's Matt Saracen's mom! I really liked her in Gone Girl, but didn't realize I'd seen her in anything in particular before.

It is a parent's choice, but there really shouldn't be any question what choice to make.

"I've been to Tokyo. They sell little-girl underwear in the vending
machines right on the main drag, the Ginza, or whatever. Guys in suits
buying used girl panties. How is that okay? That's not okay."

I find historical judgments to be interesting. Truman left office with a 32% approval rating (bottomed out at 22%) and now comes in 3rd on the Greatest President since WWII list and 5th on a C-SPAN all-time list http://legacy.c-span.org/Pr…

That reminds me of all my teachers claiming that, "by the time you graduate high school, everyone will be using the metric system." That was a loooong time ago.

Only for 4 seasons.

I had the opposite reaction. That's part of what made it not work for me.

This show is funny.

I don't know why, but I found the documentary approach to be incredibly annoying. I found it so bothersome that turned it off after 20 minutes; I think I just couldn't imagine watching an entire movie that continued in that vein. Knowing it's eventually dropped might actually get me to watch it.

I'd argue for most of The Village, as well. Just try to forget about the twist, which to the main character really doesn't make a difference anyway. Name the movie Ivy and it becomes more about love and bravery than about fear and silly plot devices. I also make a distinction between Shyamalan the director and

With Cranston's name in the headline, I initially read it as Skinny Pete and wondered why they didn't just get the original actor. I also was very surprised that they were doing another Breaking Bad spin-off, a really unexpected one at that.

Yes, it was awful. The episode overall was pretty bad, too.

I really enjoyed the Third Man music. One of the best movies ever made.

I think it started with a zither and then transitioned to a different version of the theme.

I liked her in 13 Conversations About One Thing. I need to watch that again.

Thanks for the clarification; I misinterpreted your comment. I'm not up on the grit research. I wonder to what extent it can really be differentiated from conscientiousness and/or self-control (looks like the correlations with both are pretty strong). Still, Maier's Dictum says that performance is a function of

Based on the Oscars this year (well, and quite a few other years), I'd say playing a real person with a disability is a safer bet.
