Could be due to your sisters age. I think actually understanding the song for a good vocalist leads to a more nuanced performance, maybe you could nudge her talent that way.

This is why I'm never excited for pop covers. Just so much unnecessary vocal "flexing". The originally was a group harmony, and this oversinging just detracts from the song meaning.

I find the throwaway jokes and random comments to be the funniest part of the show. The "main" humor is often sort of forced to fit the plot.
