I understand if the AV Club chooses not to review the eight season. I don't think there's any interest, by commenters or reviewers. I didn't find seasons 5/6 absolutely horrible, but 7 didn't really have any redeeming qualities. It's time the show was put out of its misery.

I watched UST a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised. The third season was the weakest, but I do think the series wrapped up nicely. It didn't need a fourth season, but I wouldn't have complained if it did.

I'm wondering if they will mix Tara with Bubba's character in the books (vampire with brain damage). I can see Sookie, Sam or Lafayette having to put down a super strong, brain damaged, violent vamp-Tara during the season.

Not that I can recall, when  SPOILER  (Alcide's dad) in the books died (during the packmaster contest), they moved the body to a farm he owned and made his death look like an accident.

During the last season, before Bill's/Nan's strike force shoots Sophie Ann, he tells her that the sniper's have wooden bullets with silver cores. Still not sure how that would work, but it's fiction so I'll just roll with it.

"I'm all for liberal adapting but when the show forsakes character
integrity and internal motivation to make up its own, that really gets
me going up the walls." This captures the issues with the season in a nutshell.

In the books her actions help stoke the flames for the war- she was acting recklessly, since she already felt her family was under attack by the Lannisters (Lysa wrote to her blaming them for Jon Arryn's death).

He also kept using "useless as nipples on a breastplate." I found it annoying.

Please Sir,
Book 3 SPOILER It seems Bronn takes the phrase to heart-he refuses to champion Tyrion at Tryion's trial and instead leaves King's Landing to marry Lollys and and upgrade to knighthood (lordship? I forgot).
