Where does the first collection end? There's a one-shot (issue 7?) involving Matt Murdock and a bus full of school children that is one of the best single comic books I've ever read. You should definitely continue.

"Embarrassing" in the most objective sense; the 90s is nobody's favorite era of the Dead. I happen to like Brent Mydland. That's why it's on my iPod.

Just looked. Not sure if having Carcass' Symphonies of Sickness is embarrassing or cool. I also have an early '90s Grateful Dead live record. That's probably more embarrassing.

This book is really fun. I've liked other Hickman things ("Nightly News" and "Red Wing" especially) but I've been bogged down in the past because of their emphasis on being sort-of avant garde design projects in addition to comic books. This one is pretty much the perfect balance.

I like that Image pushes the trades out quickly - I'll never understand why it takes six months for Vertigo/DC to publish collected editions. There's no way to catch up!

I think it's quite clearly a sophisticated commentary about our illogical obsession with rappers being "hard," or for choruses to have "melodies." Sorry if it went over your head.

Green Day was my favorite band from the ages of 12-16. I tolerated the covers album, and even enjoyed parts of "Warning," because I had such warm memories of "Dookie" and "Nimrod." Honestly, I doubt I will ever relate to a song as viscerally as I did to "Longview" ever again for the rest of my life.

Heroes wasn't a rage-quit for me. I just couldn't muster the effort to keep watching Matt Parkman's incredibly lame, over-acted adventures at some point in Season 2, and I haven't looked back since.
I was really hoping Kirkman would kill the whole cast, and we'd start issue #101 with the community on the Hilltop. This book has become an over-wrought slog, where characters say blatantly on-the-nose things to each other that should have emotional depth but end up sounding like whining. I was surprised by that…

The new Vertigo books really, really suck. "Dominique Louveau: Voodoo Child" is an abortion. At least there's no end in sight for "Unwritten" or "American Vampire," otherwise I'd be pulling zero Vertigo books.

Only pussies experiment with changes in dynamic and melody. Only pussy-faggots.
