It's not hard to write a complaint that doesn't offend people, BTW.

I love the book too. There have been so many wonderful ways to adapt the story, which makes me all the more annoyed at the Burton debacle.
your comment is ridiculous on many levels, but i think it's funny that you complain that people denouncing racism are "snowflakes". i suspect you're lily-white yourself.
@avclub-a787a15e8c29c3b6af24ee735960458a:disqus Oh yeah? I was like 8 when I saw it. I could give it another chance.
Bieber is a self-centered idiot, but I suspect he didn't realize how tactless that comment sounded. Anne liked celebrities. He is one. He did it wrong, but his whole visit gave the Anne Frank House publicity and made some of his fans learn who she is, and I'm glad about that.
There are a lot of Shirley Temples, though, and I think they definitely get worse as she gets older, and loses some of the precious factor that made her adorable at 4.
But it looks interesting and thoughtful, unlike the CBS show.
I know nothing about Alf, but I love that you're doing this. Carry on. :D
BTW, have any of you seen James McAvoy in the BBC Shakespeare ReTold version? Macbeth is a chef, and Lady M runs the restaurant. The 3 witches are 3 snarking garbage men. I love it a lot, and not only because he sings:
:( I hadn't heard the details; someone suggested recently that it was a misunderstanding and she dropped the charges. That doesn't sound like a misunderstanding…
Oh man. I'm not even waiting to read the comments; I am too excited! Both of these are my faves, and I love The Scottish Play.
@avclub-df106893a4574bccb7bce1ff66e788b9:disqus It would totally derail this conversation to talk about how fascinated I am with Kate Middleton and the way the American media fetishize her as a Cinderella story made good (Grace Kelly, basically, for 2012).
Yeah, that whole process sounded really awful. I feel bad for the whole production team.
If burlesque/flamboyant cabaret/skin exposure is your thing, you'll need to go Off-Broadway, or even Off-Off Broadway. Bonus: the tickets are cheaper!
You seem fun.
Thanks for the facts. I'd forgotten the details, not being British or Argentinean.
@Roswulf:disqus Wow, I didn't even know there was a production of Princess Bride! Tell me more?
Here's hoping. Blech.
I'm not a huge fan of using that term, but she is a woman.
I still want to see it. I loved the book as a kid. I'll wait to reserve judgement on the actual quality, I guess.
