That is 100% true, but the Tony Awards telecast is hands-down the best produced awards show.  It's very tightly scripted, the hosts are always good at patter, and it's actually an important platform for the musicals nominated.

Uh, Coke is kosher all year round.  They just make it with sugar instead of corn syrup on Passover.

@avclub-83475238709616235c8d155c95629c02:disqus   I don't like Happy Endings either, and I've tried several times.  It just doesn't click for me at all.

I'm a little late but:

People forget that she was a Broadway baby long before Sex and the City happens.  She knows her stuff.

I tuned in in time to see that jaw-dropping At the Ballet number and was reminded why I used to love/hate it.

It's really unfuckingbelievable that she hasn't won an Emmy yet.  Awards shows are a joke.

I can't like this comment enough.  It's all of this, and it's also hilarious.

That's rough, dude.  I feel you.  Maybe you'll get Spring Awakening eventually?  That's at least based on a German text…

Also, why the fuck did I just get a notification for a Teen Mom 2 review?  I can't think of a show I could care less about.

People keep telling me I need to watch New Girl.  This episode sounds like a lot of fun.

Is anyone else having serious trouble logging in lately?  I know Disqus is generally terrible, but lately Chrome has been telling me that I'm not logged in right after I've just typed in my password.  I had to switch browsers, and that's super annoying.

I just looked it up: Tarzan was 2006, Mermaid was 2008.

Tarzan: the musical is doing phenomenally in Germany, whereas it flopped over here — a very big disappointment for Disney on Broadway; I think they lost a serious amount of money.

Give Radcliffe a few years.  He's making some very interesting, complex role choices, in an obvious attempt to not be "that wizard kid" forever.   I think he could become a DiCaprio, if he plays his cards right.

@avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus , that's a great point.  My English teacher was awesome, but he went a little overboard too.  (As did the suck-ups, desperately wanting good recs for college.)

Let's be friends!

I'm glad I read it in high school or I probably wouldn't have read it at all, but I am positive that no one in my class understood it, even those of us who pretended to be the right kind of intellectual.

Agreed.   All the lit snobs are hatin', but I love Gatsby AND Luhrmann, and I fully intend to enjoy the fuck out of this glitzy insanity.
