I'm really glad Fish Tank is airing this weekend, because I've been meaning to watch it for years and keep forgetting to put it on Netflix.
I've always thought of A Separate Peace as Catcher In The Rye-lite. With some Dead Poets Society mixed in (although I know the movie came later. I saw the movie first.)
@avclub-f1754d56a2add64869210dbfd4f92e81:disqus Oh, I missed the part where she's a Dartmouth alum. Yeah, that makes no sense.
I don't know much about Princeton either, but the majority of undergrad admissions offices are fueled by the energy and grunt work of recent college grads who are still starry-eyed and nostalgic for fun times on campus. Hence they make good ambassadors when touring high schools and interviewing students, etc.
BUNHEADS IS NOT DONE!!!111!! WE ARE GETTING A SECOND SEASON!!!
She went to Brown. I know this because my mother did too, and she loves the shit out of MCC.
@olivececile:disqus I think that's an interesting argument (although I would be wary of believing a Wired article can deeply explore any cultural differences), but it's out of place here. Fashion is not simply art, not when clothing is a symbol of identity. Americans may be shortsighted in our evaluation of…
@avclub-e576423831e043f7928d9ac113abbe6f:disqus I want to respond to you politely, but the phrase "arrogant level of stupidity" makes me angry.
Perhaps April doesn't think she's good enough to get in? ::grasping at straws::

I didn't even read the whole thing, but Andy's address book is hilarious. Extra points for three versions of Dave Matthews.
@Scrawler2:disqus , if you like your fairy-tale adaptations in novel form (BOOKS GASP), Robin McKinley kept him beastly in "Rose Daughter". It's wordy and a little heavy on gardening imagery, but it's really well done.
I'm just going to leave this here: http://broadwayworld.com/ar…
I am in so much denial right now it is ridiculous.
They don't pressure you to buy everything they show you, either. And, at least at Nordstrom's, there's on-site tailoring. When I can afford to shop there, it's great.
I finally saw the pilot on Chiller the other night and it was great. Now I'm sad I missed it the first time around. I'm sorry I was part of the problem…
I hate objectification of nerds too, but I really wish people would stop calling TBBT and things like that a "nerd minstrel show". It kind of devalues the depth of the cultural racism that actual minstrel shows represented.
Never thought the AV Club would teach me hagiography… Very cool.
I am sure this is super unpopular, but teenage me really liked Tristan.
