This isn't an "episode." This is a short story. Who cares if she's "back to the old Marnie" at some future point. This is one of the best written pieces of TV content in the medium's history, and I got to hand it to Allison Williams. She ran with it. It was great. Who knew this annoying show could turn out to be one

To be a celebrity — even a "journalist" version like Williams or a "politician" version like Hillary Clinton who told a similar false tale — is to be a fabulist. You're the kid who stared at themselves at the mirror and imagined accepting awards. Reality is slippery, and dreams are real.

This show reaches Hitchcock-like heights of character-driven suspense. I love it.
