Nice to hear other people talk about this film; it generally does not get a lot of notice. Always fun to watch it with someone new and ask them to guess who plays King Baldwin.

He nails the "I say, let they come". Maybe he needed more to bite on.

There may have been a change from years ago; I had the opposite occurrence, but it has been a while.

I will, thanks.

Orlando Bloom is a little weak in the central role, I think, or rather his character is a little too internalized for the action. I also love that quick scene near the end where Saladin sees that a cross has been knocked off a table during unspecified prior turmoil and puts it back in its place. Nice touch, no

Been awhile for me.

I like Kingdom of Heaven and love parts of it. I could watch those siege towers falling down and Saladin's reaction on continuous loop.

Nice use of the word "rictus". I think the last time I read that word somewhere was in Ebert's essay on "Aguirre, the Wrath of God" describing Klaus Kinski.

Thanks; I did not want to cite Full Metal Jacket as my source material.

In the Navy, you are supposed to call your NCO instructors "sir". Otherwise, I agree with you.

I think that the sniper was quoting the Romulan Commander in Balance of Terror.

Just saw this and I really wanted to love it; ended up with a like. Gosling's singing and dancing are… terrible, and Emma Stone's do not rise above functional, though she sells it better. Also news to me that Jazz is somehow dying, and considering [spoiler]…

Yeah. The magic oozing neon green explosive alone.

More charismatic that he has a right to be, I would put it.

I think that Vertical Limit deserved to have its name mentioned. Stupid as hell, but it grew on me, and the cast is over-qualified for the material. The French-Canadian nurse had a nice toughness to her.

I'd watch an hour a week of Peter Dinklage in character, discussing pretty much anything.

I have never seen this film. This article did not tip me in favor of wanting to. Consensus?

Agreed. Watch her stint on Scrubs. In places, she sounds like she is reading from a cue card in a monotone.

I still love this film; up there with Airplane!, just a half notch below Spinal Tap, slightly higher than Repo Man and Young Frankenstein.

Yeah, guilty of the yay, boobs thing. I will do better in the future. I wonder if some of the avoiders sense that she is tired of the yay, boobs thing and try to err in the other direction to give her a night off.
