Raymond Chandler, for one, definitely cranked stuff out while drinking, but a lot of that may have been the hacky hollywood scripts he worked on to pay the rent. Which might be the case with Faulkner as well, come to think of it.
I kind of just assume Bonnie has a lot of stuff going on that we haven't been filled in on yet. Christy's the only character who's in virtually every scene, so it seems like if she had a sponsor we'd know by now.

That's the thing about this show, people in recovery do stuff that I'm not sure you're average Joe can really relate to.
