Bono also doesn't split the profits with the other MDs in Elevation.  They manage a pool of money contributed by themselves and other investors.  The profits are shared with the entire pool.  Elevation Partners is entitled to probably 20% of the profit.

When an alien invasion and  the destruction of a flying submarine causes fewer deaths than a single non-superpowered crazy person, then you know you have a problem with stakes.

Just…no.  To take the premise at face value — and it's not persuasive — what makes a movie like TDK superior, and Avengers/ST inferior is STAKES.  A hard thing to accomplish when you have to maintain your core cast, and particularly poorly done in Avengers.

The Agent Zero stealer story was great, too.  Not a top ten WC but he was a funny guy I've never heard on a podcast before.

One of these things is not like the other…

Glad to see the reference; I always assumed that storyline was based on Hendrix (the tv movie).

He gets credit for Speed.  Perhaps the creator of Justified should get a little credit nowadays.

Some elements of Clueless do still raise an eyebrow, though. The heroine, played by Alicia Silverstone, appears every bit the entitled brat, as she judges her classmates based on their clothes while manipulating them to her own ends. The plot is all about Silverstone playing matchmaker for her friends, but every

Yup.  I hate the "why this star didn't become an A list star" conversation.  Because.  Because it's luck if you do, not lack of luck if you don't.

That's exactly how those particular NDAs work.  They are bound via contract, usually secured by severance payments/job assistance/other benefits.

Just not impressed.  If an original document was reviewed in the course of this broadcast, or someone was interviewed without an agenda, I didn't see it.  Should they have spent 15 minutes explaining the underlying concepts of why certain banks are considered too big to fail or was that time better spent with 15

    I've been singing
    RuPaul's Best Friend Race!
    Start your Friendships
    RuPaul's Best Friend Race!
May the best woman best friendship win!

Exactly to all of this!  There's no way it's true you can disappear for a month or so.  There's no reason for that proscription, and it's obviously not true in the cases of Dida and Sharon.

I assumed it was James St. James.  Doesn't he work for the production company?

I'm guessing Glover and Poehler appeared on the show more because of personal relationships with Fey and less because their network likes them more. But I'm sure Ed Helms is crying himself to sleep on his huge piles of Hangover monies.

Tina Fey is one of the greatest female comedians of our time, and I love and adore her

A couple problems with this episode:  first, casting Stephen Root as the downstate judge. There's no surprise that he turns out to be pretty canny; he plays a sophisticated judge in another prestige drama!  Plus, since he's downstate, you have to keep finding reasons to bring him into Chicago — couldn't he just be a

After reading one of the threads in the "white people problems" article, I was inspired to just write as if I cared about Annie's boobs, since it's pretty much assumed.  Clearly, I failed by confusing Boobs and boobs.  This is harder than it looks!

If they say "from Judd Apatow" they are marketing to boys and men.  If they say "from the Bridesmaids team" they are marketing to ladies.
