blast from the you know
I don't know why this showed up in my RSS feed three years later, but holy crap this has been going on for three years and comments have been going on for five?

yeah, it's hard to imagine; Newsradio makes perfect use of the set. You'd lose one of the signature things about the show without the ability to use the slamming doors staging. Not every play makes a good movie. The medium is the message, blah blah blah.
I might agree to that, just because I've watched most of the episodes some ten times or so with little letdown. I pop in the DVDs before going to bed and nothing holds up better. Maybe it's the physical comedy?
I give you Movie Star and Secret of Management. I do not agree with"Dream Come True" actually, because Beth's litany of crazy voices is actually one of the least funny things she's ever done. It's really OTT.
maybe also the three-card monte one
I don't really have a comment on these episodes, but I had a question that occurred to me last night while watching season five (despite the desire here to revive its reputation, most of it is pretty dire, sorry to say. Jimmy's Mother's Day freakout? Does that plot even make…
Limeade Youth, are you trying to say WBC's speech isn't protected? Cuz you need to update your slip ops, son.
All I remember about Andre was him constantly being sick. It was probably from smoking.
God these recaps are wonderful. I would love to watch these episodes again. It seems endlessly nostalgic/entertaining. Contrast An American Family (was that the name? The Louds) which is nearly unwatchably boring and still…
It was way upthread, but thanks to the poster who called Malcolm Gladwell a knucklehead. It seems like we have to act intellectual when talking about him, but knucklehead is about right. Knucklehead!
It's America's vegemite!
I want to hear from all the unamericans who think pb and/or pbj is weird and gross.
Doc Eon, that's a question I had. it does sound like she's a type of decathlete, which is not exactly what you'd call the "world's best sprinter."
I agree; the level of talent is generally excellent this year.
the range of their mind rays! nice post, arcxjo.
an A for smatthew?
The A plot is great, but that B plot is TURRIBLE. Ugh. Just — I'm embarrassed for Beth, the cruel mistress who is way too good for this shit (I mean, he doesn't even do magic tricks!) — and Maura just seems to be squirming in embarrassment herself.
Unnecessary.
There were hundreds of hours of talk and analysis in the two weeks after 9/11. NO ONE was clamoring to hear Sorkin's take. It's like my mom always said: if you can't say anything without sounding like a mealy-mouthed, cringeworthy jackass, don't say anything at all.
this comment is not about promoting my podcast!
"If you've ever wanted to hear an authoritative takedown of Rounders from people who know movies and poker, it's worth a listen—"
WOO
I loved tonight's episode. I didn't realize how much I missed Cat! She can't help herself from imitating Mary.
I know Harmon has gone to comedy shows in LA and complained openly (and supposedly hilariously) about what a pain Chase is. So it's not a secret. And I think you're right that he takes it out on him — he was in a wheelchair and a cast for what, three episodes? For pretty much no reason?
Ron Rifkin is…
The real goodfella!
She *didn't* nail hip-hop. She's not one of the ten best women there, so she's out, no matter when it happens.
If you can't excel *in your own style* there's no point in keeping you. My guess about Hiro, et al is that they couldn't pick up the choreo.
