I feel like Terry and Holt probably realized that zero production from Gina was still probably more productive than letting her do her actual job.

I feel like Patton Oswalt might be too prominent a guest for their budget to appear too regularly, whereas I imagine the All State Guy's pay scale is a little less hefty. I'm sure any future appearance by either of them will be much enjoyed, of course.

It was great the way that the killer high-fived Jake and bragged about his confession to the Vulture. I love when this show manages to get the criminals that are being arrested to join in the gang's antics.

Glad to hear you liked Memento. It's quite possibly my favorite film, which is probably at least as much a testament to how few movies I've seen as it is to how objectively good a film it is, but it really is great, especially on a first viewing. Remember Sammy Jankis, Lemur.

Damn, I'm sorry Hawk.

I saw All Is Lost on Saturday. I thought it was very good; Robert Redford turns in an excellent, nuanced performance in a role that must have been very difficult not to overact in, and it looked absolutely gorgeous (it's a huge snub that it wasn't even nominated for a Best Cinematography Oscar). Also, Robert Redford

The blind man's philosophy wasn't really a straight-up nihilism, so much as an intensely Christian nihilism. I think what makes these stories on faith so fascinating though, is the way that they incorporate so many different viewpoints which are all subtly disturbing in some way, and yet it's also clear that McCarthy

I've also heard that there were a couple of aspects of the film that were exaggerated/made up (Hunt apparently never beat the shit out of a reporter for asking how Lauda's marriage could withstand the disfigurement to his face, for instance), but when you compare it with other sports films that are "based on a true

How was the experience of seeing an NHL game outdoors? Were there any remotely decent seats at Yankee Stadium to view the action?

I'm so sorry for your loss, Ice Cream Planet.

On Saturday I saw Rush, which I thought was great. The cinematography was beautiful, Hemsworth and Bruhl were fantastic in their roles, the racing scenes themselves were legitimately terrifying at times, and I don't think I've ever seen a non-documentary sports film so ambivalent towards the sport that it is about.

Wait, so was "Classic Poe" actually used in the show to describe one of last season's murders?

This is one of the best things I've seen in a long time. I loved this. Hart and Cohle are a little generic to this point, but Harrelson and McConnaghey make them so idiosyncratically engrossing to watch that I barely even care. And even the case is more interesting to me than your typical serial killer story. And

He's like his character from No Country for Old Men if Chigurh was a detective instead of an assassin and was also Matthew McConnaghey.

My favorite part of that joke is just Diaz responding to Peralta's question with "Yes," and then carrying on telling him about the perp as if he hadn't even interrupted.

I was supporting the Bengals, but didn't have any particularly strong rooting interest, so yeah, it's nice to see Rivers return to being a successful quarterback.

He's an asshole, but his stuff did play a bit of a role in my becoming an atheist, but I was already pretty seriously doubting, and I never really liked his "Religion is the worst thing ever, and being religious is delusional" shit.

Well, crime noire, as in the film genre that "BMO Noire" is an homage to, is typically written in the feminine form of the verb even when the protagonist is very clearly and unambiguously male. So I don't think that the title "BMO Noire" was meant to refer to BMO's fluid gender identity.

Bee and Puppycat is incredible. Seriously, everyone who hasn't seen it, go watch it now. Go, watch it!

As someone else who enjoyed Prometheus when first watching it, how did you feel it held up on a second viewing? I've heard a lot of people who liked ti at first say that they didn't like it nearly as much the second time around.
