@avclub-022199896b1f52952c180b60caa681bd:disqus Big Bang Theory is definitely still pretty huge among the general TV-watching public.  But I don't personally know of anybody who still watches NCIS these days.  I mean, I'm sure there's some people watching it, and I don't know precisely how many, but for me, yeah, it's

Sounds interesting.  Where was it produced, out of curiosity?

"Hi, I've come to apply for the doctor's job.  I can assure you my credentials are top-notch.  I've just graduated from Harvard College Yale.  I aced every semester and I got an A."

@avclub-94d231f11cdc1fae024849f33f7a7156:disqus (Spoilers?)  I'm glad they did it this way in the book, because that means the show will have just one less "oh-hey-it-turns-out-that-character-that-you-thought-was-dead-isn't-dead-after-all" moment as compared to the books, where GRRM has really kind of used up any

Oh, I see. Sorry about that, @avclub-022199896b1f52952c180b60caa681bd:disqus

I don't get how @sacrelicious is being "America:  Fuck Yeah!" here.  It's an American site, and unfortunately sometimes an article is semi-irrelevant to non-Americans.  The commentariat here tends to lean pretty liberal relative to the general American public, and there's not a lot of "this is Amurrca, and if you

Being in my early 20s, and not having watched too many old sitcoms, I've never seen "All in the Family", but it sounds pretty amazing.  Any suggestions for good starting points/places in the series to avoid if I should choose to watch it someday?

I did really like Steve Martin's cover of "Maxwell's Silver Hammer".  It was one of the highlights of the film for me, but apart from a couple of good bits, it wasn't really my thing.  Still much better than Across the Universe, though.

For what it's worth I was also pretty disappointed with episode 1 of Terriers.  I seem to remember enjoying the story in episode 2 quite a bit more, but yeah, it really hits it's stride around episode 3.

Who do you have in tomorrow night's Sharks-Kings game?

I had this season's episode of SNL hosted by Jamie Foxx on in the background Saturday night, and my attention was grabbed by the final two skits.  The first was a parody of a generic trashy courtroom show called "Maine Justice" which revolved around the gag that everyone but the confused defendant had an incredibly

Well, his divinity is unassailable, so, no?

Party God easily had the best lines of the episode.

Yeah, I didn't actually care too much for this one.  I liked the message that it sends, and the fact that Ice King realizes that putting up his "nice guy" persona just to get with Isla de Senorita was just another form of douchebaggery, and that he does the right thing and doesn't pursue her in the end.  Party God is

Which episode was that?  Was it the one with Spongebob and Sandy doing a bunch of stupid dangerous shit before she goes into hibernation?

Yeah, that's fine, so long as one doesn't claim that it's an inferior genre solely and that those who do like it have objectively inferior taste.  One can also dislike a band like Neutral Milk Hotel that's about as far from possible as prog, and not find unpolished musicianship and Jeff Mangum's voice affecting at

Also, did anyone notice what appeared to be a middle aged bespectacled man locked in a cage on top of some scientific device in PB's lab when Peppermint Butler and Braco first come in?  PB's questionable ethics continue to be one of my favorite things about this show.

I've always Pendleton Ward et. al. are trying to strike a balance between shying away from the more excessive/tumblr-level shipping that goes on here, and shying away from sheer denial of a former relationship between PB and Marceline that may have, in a more tolerant society, been explicitly confirmed rather than

Yeah, has she been 18 this whole time with the exception of the few episodes where she was 13?  Because hasn't Finn aged from about 12 to 14 since the show began?

I don't have anything constructive to add to this conversation, but I just wanted to add that that lion was pretty malnourished-looking.
