Yeah, I don't get why everyone here seems to hate them that much.  I mean, I can understand hating them, but there seems to be a lot of "Dream Theater is literally the worst thing ever" out there when the topic comes around to modern prog metal.  I'll agree, they have a pretty-good-but-not-groundbreaking sound that

So, I read A Mercy last year and thought it was really good.  Any suggestions a good place to start with the rest of Morrison's works?

Personally, I agree that it's too much, but I feel like if it's your only reason to watch HBO then downloading the show for thirtysome dollars is probably your best legal option if you care about keeping current with the show (like some people will).  Me, I'll probably buy or rent the latest season when it comes out

Speaking of fools, I wonder if we're going to get the numerous renditions of "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" (how is it that I know the name of this fictional song?) in the TV adaptation of ASOS that we got in the book.  I believe the first time it appears it is when Sansa learns of the Tyrells' plans to marry her off

Yeah, that was weird.  Maybe it has something to do with the way that Stannis and Selyse are so distant, and how Selyse is barely even the queen when you have Melisandre there.  And maybe Olenna will go by her maiden name now that she's widowed?

Oberyn shows up in SOS, the rest of the Martells minus Quentyn (who doesn't appear until ADWD), show up in AFFC.  I think.

Um, in the US, I think you can purchase a season pass during the season and watch the episodes as they come out (I'm just assuming that you don't get them until the day after).  After the season ended, I don't think it was available for purchase until the Season One DVD/BluRay was out.

Really?  I've been wondering why there haven't been any POV chapters from one of the Tyrell's.  It seems like literally every other family of that level of importance has at least one POV character.

It gets a lot more "already way better".

Personally, I'd read ahead.  Otherwise you're going to have to deal with potential spoilers as to what happens in AFfC and ADwD.  Plus, I feel like the show gives away mini-spoilers about the later books already.  Like that scene in Season One that clearly gives away Renly's relationship with Loras; I don't think that

@avclub-40e90db13ab31c7efd64228034182c2e:disqus  OK, I may have misjudged the new Gregor's height a little, but he still looks pretty pathetic compared with the original.
@avclub-0b139a3fb621641d0c79d2d478c5bc92:disqus I thought it was something insignificant like that, and Spoilers: he's going to be all corpsey by
