No love for Angel Heart? It's a pretty great, if a little ridiculous, film. I also have a great fondness for The Road to Wellville, while still realizing that it's a complete disaster.

This critic's opinion of a film is different from ours! We must tear him limb from limb! Also, I think some people need to review the differences between opinion and fact.

So the Moss and Margaret thing is supposed to be a Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf gag, right? What with his sweater, the nasty bickering, Margaret/Martha, etc. Or am I reading too much into it?

That's a good point. I was thinking that there are enough of the type of people out there who will go to a movie on opening weekend, regardless of negative reviews or word of mouth, just because it's related to a thing they like. I forgot that sometimes they have moments of clarity.

It's a geek-friendly story about extraordinary children that shoot lasers and blow stuff up, based on a book that bajillions of people read and loved as teenagers. Even if it's terrible, it'll still make $100 Million.

Did anyone else follow that Entertainment Weekly link? It's insane how fast the comments there turned into a debate on incest.

But only if you're a woman.

The question I always have about that scene is that since Luke's presumably never seen a picture of his father pre-Vader, shouldn't he be a little confused about who the young guy standing with Ben and Yoda is?

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that. I don't know what an MRA is, but my misogyny bell was definitely jangling by the end of the interview. Although I've been a Ween fan long enough that I probably shouldn't be surprised. The complaining about wimpy, indie music is also a little lacking in self awareness,

So, Pitchfork's moving into film now?

That would be the point. Please don't make me explain it.

The latest song by Singlebot 2013. It's also just about as reggae as Rihanna.

I wonder if it means anything that the only songs mentioned in the review are the three that have been available online for weeks.

Fair enough. Are there deeper shows tackling big, significant problems that you prefer to watch?

You Gotta Put Me On.

Yeah, but The Sarah Silverman Program already did that with Brian and Steve.

Yes, but that's still the show leaving you. And as per sacrelicious, it's never really mutual.

Not sure what it says about me or my age, but inside my head, Charles Dance is still primarily known for his role in Alien 3.
