Strange makeup job, but it's no less strange than the cinematography and soundtrack during the sequence.  Still, if the intent is to emphasize the alien-ness of the astronauts, I'd say mission accomplished.

At some point, they've got to issue a moratorium on using "of Death" as a title-ender.  The final story before it could be called "The Death of 'of Death'".
