there was an unclassified slide from the training exercise that showed various states as fictional countries, along with the general invasion plan, so people freaked out that it was going to be the real world military take over (because you publish those things on unclassified ppt slides). it was especially funny to

I've got a weird obsession of following these weirdos. Militia / one percents / sovereign citizens. They're so bizarre and ridiculous I find them morbidly amusing. They are very dangerous in my opinion but its also so surreal. I was on deployment when the refuge thing went down, so with what little connection was

With the debate over his protest being offensive to the military and it being an expression of his freedom compliments of the military, I look around my unit's office and find no one discussing it or even caring. Part of that is the no-no of discussing politics, part of it is genuine apathy. We got more important

PHANTASY STAR ONLINE
Simplistic gamewise but such a great aesthetic.

Don't even bother with the Overwatch tutorial. Just jump straight in to Quick Play. Especially now that the competitive season has begun again, you'll find QP is fairly relaxed. As MrHemisphere says, change characters often (every character has "counters"). Good starters are Soldier, Pharah, DVA, and Junkrat

Battlefield 1 beta ended…. so back to Battlefield 4. And maybe some Overwatch if I can get enough friends together. Also I started DXHR; its okay so far

this is embarrassing… for oswalt.

This trailer is cringe worthy but I laughed out loud in the theater when she made the boy shoot himself in the face with the slingshot. Scene was a perfect combination of stupid and terrible CGI

"it's a living"

Shocked to hear that obsessive fans are unhappy with the creator and are fanfic'ing their own vision. Hopefully this doesn't happen to other settings

Trolls and Sing just look unremarkably bland. This one looks offensively bad.

My wife and I saw Kubo over the weekend (good film) and all the trailers, including this one, looked really bad. Monster Trucks was definitely the worst though.

one of the only ~true~ roguelikes I have ever put much time into, but I've never gotten very far. its great fun but I just don't have the time or patience to commit to "beating" a RL. I revisit DCSS from time to time though.

played a lot of the battlefield one beta over the holiday weekend. I was an initial doubter but I think they may have a solid game here, so I will be picking it up upon release (but not preordering, because never preorder)

i thought the 1st one had this weird, quirky, meta ish quality to it that made it more endearing while the 2nd one seemed a much more straight forward comedy. not sure where they can take the series from here but hopefully they get back as many of the cast as possible

pitch perfect 3: now you see me 3

oh yeah I just remembered that my actual big issue with reddit is that tends to be the primary source for feedback for a lot of game devs. understandable because official forums are often as bad as youtube but its still frustrating

Good point unfortunately.

I like when larger news sites force people to use their facebook to comment. It doesn't stop the vitrol or hate speech but at least you could easily screenshot and email to a work place if you wanted to call someone out or hold them accountable.

I look at a few of the smaller niche hobby ones because the discussion is more easy to follow and everyone is generally on topic and courteous. the larger ones I avoid; I had to stop looking at the main video game one and history because I found them too frustrating
