That's a great moment. I also like the "ladies," conversation on the bench when they're eating frozen yogurt. However, I haven't seen any moments like that or the one where Jessa tries to organize the Nanny's Union since season 1.

The fact that Frances realizes she cannot pursue her dreams is what makes Frances Ha superior to Girls.

In the original draft of the pilot, it's implied that Hannah's parents are tenured professors at the University of Michigan; meaning they each get paid 100 grand a year.

It's the one and only Pilot! (wish she was covering more than one show freelance on here).

You read that Flavorwire article, huh?

That makes sense! I read a preview of the book on scribd and was wondering why she would include that essay.

I can't find the link to the essay now (it was published online before the book came out), but hopefully will be able to during my lunch break.

It's completely unrealistic.

She goes to Tokyo, Japan with her mother, pretty much disses the entire culture and makes some racist jokes.

There are also a lot of Italian people in Boston (The North End, for example), but it's not as prevalent in pop culture that represents Boston. Anyway, the Irish-ness is played up simply because of Ben Affleck and the crime the Irish gangs perpetrated in the 50s-80s.

Does it bother anyone else that none of the reviews for Not That Kind of Girl have addressed the racist essay about how she goes to Japan?

The cutesy-ness of this show is borderline ridiculous. I think they were trying to avoid that with the bearded best friend and the boss, but the sweetness saturates the sour moments like a Sour Patch Kid covered in FunDip.

That is really irritating. However, there are a crazy amount of people with Irish heritage in Massachusetts. On the other hand, there are also a lot of other ethnic groups there (like there is small enclave of people who speak Polish in the city)The only show I can remember that took place in Boston and didn't make

What to take from this review: A-Z is okay and watch Better Off Ted…but mostly watch Better Off Ted.

As a Massachusetts native, there's no way I'm going to be able to sit through that show with those horrible accents.

Arguably neither is the character in my avatar…

I remember loving (on Nick) The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo and Keenan and Kel.

I really wish they'd adapt Summer. It's probably Wharton's most underrated work.

Anyone know where I can get an unbiased review of this episode? Unsurprisingly, HitFix isn't reviewing Selfie.
