Yeah…that still doesn't work.
Yeah…that still doesn't work.
For some reason it seriously bothers me that so many showrunners have no game-plan (which is one of the many reasons I cannot watch Lost in addition to my lingering frustration about the mythology of The X-files going nowhere). There are some shows that really don't need a game plan like Community and Happy Endings,…
In defense of the show, the first three seasons were great. The quality started to dip significantly in season 5.
He didn't really change until the last episode; which was kind of a cop-out by the writers who were obviously afraid to show us a long-term version of "mature," Barney out of fear he would not be as beloved by the viewers as "player," Barney was.
I love the the Seinfeld finale if you look at it through the lenses of "they actually died on the plane." Meaning they are in literal hell and on trial to see if they have to stay there.
It wasn't really a detective story, given that the Mother wasn't actually cast until the last season. There were no clues for the audience to find her.
Exactly. For a show that spent an ENTIRE weekend on a wedding, the finale was a rushed, hot mess.
I think it only needed a five episode arc (13 episode arc at most) at the beginning of season 9 and then everything that happened after in the 45 minute finale should have been the rest of the season.
I feel like you have kind of have to give Bays and Thomas credit for having the guts to actually do that for a finale—however, there was also the issue of the kids growing up and they were ultimately stuck with that ending regardless of what the fans thought.
Her podcasts are hilarious. Definitely worth a listen.
It's definitely worth watching for Meritt Wever.
Oh I agree. That's what I'm saying. However just because something is considered "raunchy," or breaking the gender norms, doesn't mean it's quality comedy.
Not really, considering the number of female writers/showrunners/those who have behind the scenes jobs is disgustingly disproportionate to the number of men, expecially in comedy.
Did I really just read a post that deemed Chelsea Handler a "performance artist"?
Fair enough. Party Down, probably does have the best LA vibe.
No. If something is bad, it should be commented upon regardless of gender.
Fixed it.
Amy Schumer does crude humor well. Chelsea Handler doesn't.
I said in another post that I appreciate her abrasiveness toward some of her guests because they actually do deserve it —like when she replied to Katy Perry that she wasn't surprised that Katy Perry never read a book in high school.
I like Bonnie Hunt, but Julie Klausner would be more suited for late-night format. Klausner's monologues on her podcast are hilarious and even sometimes poignant.
