Yeah, but when you compare her books to Conan at the Harvard Lampoon and the Simpsons and (I hate to say this) Fallon and Meyer's writing gigs at SNL, they easily have more experience than her.

Do not joke about that…ever.

Well, if a guest ever did call her out on her show, she could technically edit that part out — so we've actually never seen her face-off against someone without the advantage with the exception of Piers Morgan (who was an easy target for being shitty at his job and insulting her).

There's an interview segment on both The Daily Show and Colbert, so I would consider them to be talk-shows — the hosts just happen to be in-character. Colbert even has a living-room set for interviews (which is obviously a dig at conservative news, but still).

Although I think her stand-up is crap, I do appreciate that she doesn't pander to the celebrities like, say, Jimmy Fallon, does.

If you listen to old episodes of Duncan Trussell's podcast (when it was called The Lavender Hour) when he co-hosted with his ex-girlfriend Natasha Leggero (who used to be a frequent regular on the Chelsea Lately roundtable), he always makes snarky comments about her being on Chelsea Lately and how it has some of the

The Daily Show first aired in 1996, but the format was slightly different and it had a different tone because Craig Kilborn hosted. So yeah that statement about Chelsea Lately debuting before The Daily show is false. Perhaps they meant the first talk-show hosted by a woman to appear outside of braodcast networks?

Can we just give Julie Klausner a talk-show already so we can stop being reminded that Chelsea Handler of all women is the only female to have a late-night talk-show currently on air?

I feel like you're right. If you look at season 2, which has the best balance of character-based episodes and concept episodes, it seems like Harmon was trying to—partly—recreate that in season 5, but didn't have enough filler episodes for character-based stories like he would have had if given a full-season order.

Arguably, because so many shows are set/filmed in LA, there really is no "LA" vibe.

It even had the lighting/color saturation that made it look like a cartoon (gas leak?). When the premiere of season 5 had the same look as season 1, it was a relief to what the show looked like in season 4.

Season 5 of Community has been almost as good as season 2. However, I don't think we'll ever get that season 2 magic back, which I think was the result of having the balance of the season 1 writers like Hilary Winston (who, to this day, I believe is responsible for the majority of Britta's great cat jokes in seasons

I think David Crane or Marta Kaufman said once (in Warren Littlefield's book) that Friends was essentially a well-written soap-opera with great jokes.

True…maybe I said that because certain episodes have a "car-centric" vibe, or a vibe about the characters being from out-of-staters who never have family members around.

Not entirely on topic, but I love TWOP for the sole reason of reading the old board postings for people's reactions to old shows when they first premiered.

Like when Robin floated away…yeah that moment was really emotional and not cheap in the least.

Seinfeld changed the way TV was written. It essentially set up how future single-camera shows would be written (with shorter, fast-paced scenes with overlapping storylines). This is mostly because Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld originally wanted Seinfeld to be a single-camera show. So, essentially, everything isn't

The Goodwin Games was horrible. It was a single-camera show with the comedic timing and pacing of a multi-camera show (which means there were way too many pauses in between jokes/dialogue).

New Girl is set in LA and should have a different vibe. They live in a city where driving is the primary form of transportation opposed to walking/public transport. The characters live in a West coast culture, so they don't face the same problems New Yorkers have.

I know University of Michigan is #2, which is why I suggested it instead — along with it being in Hannah's home state, which would have added more dimensions to the decision (IMO) . There's something presumptuous about picking the best program. Maybe she could have picked the University of Wisconsin or Syracuse
